We are excited to announce we will be introducing “Open Forums” beginning June 22. These free-of-charge (i.e. no ticket fee) Open Forums will be in essence general meetings for the Membership, your neighbours and friends.
There will be one golden rule for these Forums; each segment MUST BE INTERESTING or they won’t be included and; if we can’t be unreservedly confident an Open Forum will be interesting in total, it will not be scheduled.
Robin Sears summed up the intent of our Open Forum when he wrote in the Sunday Star “Party organizers need to make participating in a riding meeting matter, to make their appeals for political support authentic and personally relevant, to respond respectfully to criticism and pledge to never waste an intelligent millennial’s time enduring boring boilerplate speeches by visiting politicians.”
Open Forums will be interactive, discussing strategy, politics, current (political) events and featuring interesting guest speakers who might not be a Liberal and may well challenge your thinking. Our goal will be to have you leaving Open Forums excited, maybe heated and for sure exclaiming “well THAT was interesting!”
Open Forum #1 Agenda
- Organization Chair & Committee; Strategy, Plans and Actions to win in 2019
- Policy Chair; Current Matters before the House; Carbon Tax Discussion Paper
