“Trudeau Stories” – Our 3rd Annual Dinner/Theatre Event
This will be our most interesting dinner/theatre event yet!
In 1985, while she was a student at the National Theatre School in Montreal, Brooke Johnson became friends with Pierre Elliott Trudeau.
Brooke Johnson got to know Trudeau as a personal friend and mentor with insights we were never privileged to experience – until now. Brooke Johnson is the playwright and sole performer in “Trudeau Stories“, our play for this year.
Robert Cushman, of the National Post, wrote about the play “An unexpectedly engaging memoir…like turning the pages of a live snapshot album…it’s delightful.” Another theatre critic, Bruce Demara, of the Toronto Star, wrote “Johnson’s play…leaves us wanting more – as fine theatre should.”
With our performance of the play, you will get more. Immediately following her performance, Brooke Johnson will come back on stage for a “Talk Back” session during which she will be interviewed, likely by David Nairn, the Artistic Director for Theatre Orangeville, and by the audience. Here you will have the opportunity to ask questions that came up from her performance or perhaps something you’ve always wondered about.
If that still leaves you wanting, we have yet more! After the Talk Back session, we will walk to nearby SteakHouse63 for fine dining joined by our dinner guests Brooke Johnson and her partner, Adrian Truss where you will have the opportunity to meet her personally!
SteakHouse63 by the way is one of the top rated restaurants in Orangeville where you will have your choice of steak, chicken or salmon as your entrée.
